Between topsoil deficits, reliance on natural rainfall and the sheer size and scale, mine site rehab can be challenging.
We heard from Butch Uechtritz from Innovate Enviro and Alison Price from SoilCyclers about how they worked with Cammel Consulting at Idemitsu’s Ensham Mine to manufacture topsoil from mine overburden to address a topsoil deficit and partially treat mine void water for short-term irrigation.
